Internet and society
The revolution of information technology (IT) and innovation has had progressively visible effects on our lives (Nie & Erbring, 2000). Nie and Erbring (2000) stated that "these developments affect not only how people work, but where they work, how much they work, or whom they interact with face-to-face or electronically" (p. 3).
Social network applications are now seemingly everywhere, thanks to the increased use of smartphones, the internet, and the web. The internet has become universal in everyday life, and we depend heavily on the safety and privacy of it and its applications (Vinton, 2005).
Internet technology plays an important role in contemporary society, influencing almost every aspect of our lives. It is a combination of technologies, platforms, practices, and discourses that impact society, including politics, globalization, development, privacy, and many other areas.
